Sally Brogden: Recent Work

May 1st - May 24th, 1992

The Clay Studio is pleased to announce "Recent Work" a solo exhibition featuring juried guest artist Sally Brogden. This exhibit will stand in the Front Gallery of the Clay Studio from May 1st through the 24th with the opening reception Friday, May 1st, 5-8pm. Gallery hours are Tuesday thru Friday 12-6 pm, Saturday & Sunday 12-5 pm.

Currently Sally Brogden is an Assistant Professor at Sul Foss State University, Alpine Texas. She received her MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred, New York and this past summer participated in the Resident Artist program at the Archie Bray Foundation. For the past two years, Sally has been accepted into the "NCECA Clay National" annual exhibition and has also shown in galleries and art centers throughout the Midwest and East coast.

By combining "elemental building blocks of both organic and geometric forms", Sally creates her elongated textural sculptures. In the past, she feels the organic forms have been the dominant element. In this series, Sally's "intention was to develop a more symbiotic relationship where the geometric would more agreeably coexist with the organic."
