Magdalene Odundo is a Kenyan born British artist whose work is both contemporary and connected to the forms of African ceramics. Her career has been dedicated to making stunning hand built, unique art objects, as well as to teaching the next generation of ceramic artists in the UK. In 2008 she was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire on the Queen’s Birthday Honour’s List for services to the Arts.
Magdalene Odundo will be The Clay Studio Guest Artist in Residence through March and April 2017. Her work will be on display, and the Harrison Gallery will be transformed into her artist studio. Public hours will allow community members to interact with her in the studio.
