Janet Lowe: Painted Earthenware

A show of recent work by resident artist Janet Lowe.

Janet Lowe, a resident artist at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, opens the gallery's season with a show of recent work, "Painted Earthenware". This show of new work is composed of wall panels, large platters and tableware of low fire white clay and terra cotta.

Ms. Lowe, who recently moved to Philadelphia from Oakland, California, has exhibited widely on the West Coast. She received her MFA from California College of Arts and Crafts where she studied with Viola Frey. In November 1980, Ms. Lowe received an award of excellence in craftsmanship and design at the Philadelphia Craft Show.

"Painted Earthenware" will be exhibited at The Clay Studio Gallery from September 12 through October 9. Gallery hours are 1-4 pm, Monday through Saturday and by appointment.
